Supervised Agricultural Experience Project
Supervised agricultural experiences, or SAE's are an integral part of Walhalla’s agricultural education program. Students enrolled in an agricultural education course at Walhalla are required to have an SAE Project for the purpose of gaining valuable work experience while learning about a career field, typically in agriculture. Students will develop and keep records on their project throughout the semester on the Agriculture Experience Tracker and will be graded weekly on timely, thorough journal entries with records of hours worked and money earned/spent. Students are expected to spend a minimum of 4 hours per week on their project. Since SAE’s are an integral component to a complete agricultural education experience, it is an essential part of their class grade and will be considered as a “major” grade.
